Trip to the City

Rebecca and her kids came to visit for the weekend and we couldn't have been more excited. We decided to go to the city on Saturday morning for breakfast at the farmers market.

We happily ate our delicious salmon and egg breakfast sandwiches.

Aspen loved running around on the pier. She was given lots of attention as she put on a show for everyone.

It was fun to look at all the wild life that flew or swam by. We even saw a few sail boats.

As always, Carson was a people watcher, even if that did include his sister.

We shopped for a while in the farmers market. Then headed over to the lovely modern art they put up across the street from the market for some more playing.

We had the best time with Rebecca and her kiddos, we can't wait for them to come again for their next visit.

First Dinner Guest

Now that things have started to settle down we thought we could handle a few dinner guest. We invited Scott's parents over last Sunday night for dinner. Never really doing this we decided to make a menu, it went as followed:

appetizer - tortilla soup
main dish - soft chicken taco served with Spanish rice and beans
dessert - pound cake with fresh fruit

We don't eat this much food on our most hungry days so why we felt the need to over feed Sara and Dix is beyond us. We hope to learn from this and have many wonderful dinners with them while we still live close enough.

However, dessert turned out beautifully!

Born on the 1st of July

In case we aren't away from our home enough we decided to leave a few days after we got home from Italy and head to Southern California to visit Melanie's family for the boys birthday. Jonathan turned 12, and Christopher and Nicholas turned 10.

I went down on Monday and Scott was able to join me on Thursday evening.

The weather down in Southern California is always gorgeous. Tuesday we went to the beach, Wednesday was Disneyland and California Adventure, Thursday was our day of rest, with Friday came the park, Saturday we had swimming and a BBQ, and Sunday after church Scott and I drove home. Now I can officially say we need a break from our vacations.
