One Year Anniversary

We have officially been married for one year and we have loved every minute of it.

To celebrate we went out to dinner on Saturday night to the restaurant were we had our luncheon/reception. We had the best time being back there and remembering our wonderful wedding day. The restaurant manager remembered us and was every welcoming, just how we remembered her.

On Sunday (our actual anniversary) we had our neighbors over for dinner and enjoyed our wedding cake for dessert. The cake didn't look as pretty as it did a year ago but it still tasted just as good, surprisingly.

Scott and I are headed out of town next weekend for more celebrations, however Scott is doing all the planning and I don't quite know what will be going on. I love surprises so I am super excited!

New Years

Our first New Years as a married couple.

It was amazing. We started the evening off enjoying dinner with our wonderful neighbors (Jenny, Tim, and Tori). Their tradition is to have fondue on New Years Eve and we were lucky enough to get invited. They did a wonderful job preparing everything and it was all delicious.

From there we headed over to Scott's parents to welcome in the New Year. We watched old movies, ate lots of cookies, and talked on the phone with Audrey and Lor as they had just welcomed their little girl Kina into this world.

The Happiest Place on Earth

When celebrating my birthday we often turn it into my birthmonth.
We headed down to So Cal and spent the day at Disneyland. We went with Christina, Elisa Rose, and Lucas then met up with Melanie, Johnathan, Aubrey, Rebecca, Kenny, Aspen, and Carson.

We had a great time hopping back and forth between Disneyland and California Adventures.

I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband and family that I enjoy spending my time with!

Surprise!

My birthday is August 19 and last weekend Scott through me a surprise weekend party with my three sisters who live close. He invited Melanie, Christina, and Rebecca down.

They all arrived on Friday while Scott and I were running errands. We spend the day visiting and went out to dinner at my favorite Mexican restaurant.

Saturday was all about fun in the sun. We spend a good part of the day swimming and hanging out at the pool. It was nice to have the people I sometime talk to while I am at the pool right there with me 8-)

That evening Scott barbecued for us all. It is always nice when I don't have to cook but having Scott barbecuing makes everything 100x's better.

We were exhausted after our day in the sun and everyone took off on Sunday morning, to return to the real world of work and responsibility.

Trip to the City

Rebecca and her kids came to visit for the weekend and we couldn't have been more excited. We decided to go to the city on Saturday morning for breakfast at the farmers market.

We happily ate our delicious salmon and egg breakfast sandwiches.

Aspen loved running around on the pier. She was given lots of attention as she put on a show for everyone.

It was fun to look at all the wild life that flew or swam by. We even saw a few sail boats.

As always, Carson was a people watcher, even if that did include his sister.

We shopped for a while in the farmers market. Then headed over to the lovely modern art they put up across the street from the market for some more playing.

We had the best time with Rebecca and her kiddos, we can't wait for them to come again for their next visit.

First Dinner Guest

Now that things have started to settle down we thought we could handle a few dinner guest. We invited Scott's parents over last Sunday night for dinner. Never really doing this we decided to make a menu, it went as followed:

appetizer - tortilla soup
main dish - soft chicken taco served with Spanish rice and beans
dessert - pound cake with fresh fruit

We don't eat this much food on our most hungry days so why we felt the need to over feed Sara and Dix is beyond us. We hope to learn from this and have many wonderful dinners with them while we still live close enough.

However, dessert turned out beautifully!

Born on the 1st of July

In case we aren't away from our home enough we decided to leave a few days after we got home from Italy and head to Southern California to visit Melanie's family for the boys birthday. Jonathan turned 12, and Christopher and Nicholas turned 10.

I went down on Monday and Scott was able to join me on Thursday evening.

The weather down in Southern California is always gorgeous. Tuesday we went to the beach, Wednesday was Disneyland and California Adventure, Thursday was our day of rest, with Friday came the park, Saturday we had swimming and a BBQ, and Sunday after church Scott and I drove home. Now I can officially say we need a break from our vacations.
